Why the f**k…
isn’t anyone talking about the havoc that could potentially be wreaked upon our lives and our freedom by the Military Commissions Act of 2006?
Above all things, watch this video clip from MSNBC.
Those of us with more revolutionary views should consider ourselves warned.
A quick thought from Y-LOVE.

lox, shabbes; no prison!
to the lady from a mountain,
do you believe in comfort food?
for me its munster cheese melted on sliced challa bread.
or toasted rye bread with carraway seeds shmeared with cream cheese and lox.
thats why there arent any jews in prison. because they eat lox.
i have a comfort day too.
shabbes.
the trick is to make that magic happen every day of the week too. i do that by wearing my churchpants as often as i can
and shabbes food: mmmm!
so so comforting

ponovitch rehab
i have faith in my friends. i have faith in myself. although the world may scorn our vision and doubt our strengths, i turn to the late dean and founder of the ponovitch yeshiva for inspiration.
rabbi kahaneman was a dreamer . his first name was yosef. of course. he escaped the carnage in europe and beat the nazi war machine to palestine where he was intent on developing a world-class torah academy. the locals thought he was mad. they felt the trauma he had endured in europe had affected his judgement. they pitied him. one man had faith in him. he gave the ponovitcher rav a desolate hilltop in bnei braq to embark on his dream.
the academy began with four students. the frightening beat of the nazi wardrums reverbrated in the terrified hearts of the jews in palestine. rommel was on his way. it seemed like the allied “desert rats” could do nothing to prevent his march across north africa. the situation was bleak.
yet rav kahaneman laid out his master plan. he wanted to create the largest torah institution in the world. he wanted it to be divided in departments each one specializing in a different area of the talmud. he wanted a rosh yeshiva to specialize in each order of the shas.
climb that hill today and you will be amazed. its like nothing else in the world. and to just think that this vision was the brainchild of a destitute refugee from a rural town in cow-poke lithuania. amazing.
but alas dreams sometimes outlive their master. or die with him.
the ponovitcher rav relied on his incredible mind. he carried no blueprints or notes. so when he took ill and passed away the directional flow of his academy was left to the dogs. we can only wonder what could have been had he lived to a later date.
let us not overlook his garantuan achievements. he created a self-sufficient empire. with real estate holdings in israel and south africa he practically ensured the continuous survival of the yeshiva and kollel. the fund raising arm of the yeshiva is still operating at full force.
yet there is a certain air of stagnancy permeating the hallowed halls of ponovitch today. years of political warring and intracide fighting has taken its toll on the exhuberant spirit she once possessed. notice the dust and cobwebs that have gathered in the corners of her mighty hall
faded grandeur. a sacred temple buried in the jungle. a heathen kingdom of wild monkeys swinging from the vines, a grizzly ape seated at the throne. the scene is remniscent of machu pichu or solomon’s temple and it could cause you to wail and rent your garments in grief
i see the future. a magnificent rehab. a counseling sage for each addiction and thousands of brilliant and inquisitive disciples marching up and down, a buzz of excitement, learning and developement. i see happiness and openness. i see love and understanding, health serenity and prosperity.
an academy abiding to the dictum “know thyself”
i see the ponovitch rehab jutting through the clouds , a disneyian castle perched high on a mountain disseminating light, truth, and wisdom throughout the kingdom
and i can see the ponovitcher rav, a pure and radiant countenance framed in white hair and a saintly flowing beard, his piercing eyes crinkled in a huge smile as he urges us on

know thyself
i pity my buddy from brooklyn. he finally admitted he’s hitting the pipe. hard. two hundred dollars a day. and he just finished law school.
it used to be blow, but one day he thought hey why not, rocks are cheap.
he wasn’t prepared. crack is like nothing else in the world he told me. and now he’s scared, he doesnt know what the hell to do. he tried detox at the hospital. never again, he says. and besides, he hit the pipe again the next day. its because im bored, he claims
now friends and family want to take action. a four week lockdown in minnesota for 30 grand. thats a lot of money. life on the rocks isnt cheap
we talk on the phone. i put him on the line with shawn. shawn’s been living on the street for twenty years. he finally got clean a year and a half ago. he’s still homeless, but there’s hope now. and he’s clean. shawn told him to get real. to realize that no matter how smart he thinks he is, the drug is in control.
shawn told him, you think youre straight, well youll see how straight you are in ten months when youre sucking a guy to pay for crack. iv’e seen a woman sell her baby for crack. it will destroy your mind
hopefully my buddy will listen. he needs help.
but what makes it sadder is that he has no clue what to expect after rehab. face it, he’s not the only addict. our community is infested. it might not be crack, but theyre all a bunch of addicts. addicted to religious fanaticism, addicted to pain medication, or addicted to money. all these addictions are the same: in the long run they compromise our integrity.
its no wonder why we are so screwed up. our people has suffered much over the years. we carry a lot of pain.
an elderly woman confided in me. she told me her daughter is married to a non-jew. i moved to california and my daughter became a mexican she said with a laugh. but he’s so good to her she tells me. she’s paralyzed from her last childbirth and he is so dedicated to her. he specially designed a house to accomodate her handicap.
i said good. this holocaust left us messed up. i think intermarriage is a wonderful idea. and the elderly woman gave me a knowing smile
i invited my buddy to come out to where i live. i told him i would pick him up after rehab, and we would hit the road for a while.
forget social demands and pressures. enough trying to please the parents and grandparents and rebbeim and god knows who else
its time for him to get to know himself. but its not just him. take a look around the community.not one single friend who i grew up with is an honest businessman. and think about the horrible mess in israel. its time for all of us to get to know ourselves. before its too late

Martin Luther’s Secret Sabbatian Side
“Be a sinner and sin on bravely, but have stronger faith and rejoice in Christ, who is the victor of sin, death, and the world. Do not for a moment imagine that this life is the abiding place of justice: sin must be committed. To you it ought to be sufficient that you acknowledge the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world, the sin cannot tear you away from him, even though you commit adultery a hundred times a day and commit as many murders”
There’s some serious depth to this, if you read between the lines. And forget what an anti-semitic asshole he was.

Rothchild’s daddy is your Messiah-god!
I love Clifford Shack! He’s got a picture of Shabtai Tzvi next to a picture of every single Rothchild ever! Is more evidence of their royal patronage necessary? He’s got that too! Have you guys checked out this site yet? The complete quotable teachings of Jacob Frank are ready for you! For example:
“Moses did not die but went to another religion and God permitted it. The Israelites in the desert did not want to walk that road, and when they came to More, “bitterness,” they became aware of that freedom and it was in that place where there was no obligation. No man knows where Moses is buried, not even the anointed leader of Israel. The Israelites were given those laws of Moses as a burden and these are murderous to the common folk, but Toras Adonay temimo, “Divine teachings are wonderful.” No human being, nor any being, had the good fortune to hear those teachings. We hope that we will hear them.”
I’ve never felt so comforted by a conspiracy before! God does love and support us!

about sevenfatcow
A personal message from Y-Love.
Again, being that I consider charedi Judaism to be an ideal — not (should I throw in a ח”ו?) as practiced but as envisioned by Moses et al., actually manifesting one’s state of fearing G-d through practical halachic observance — I am often at odds with my Sevenfatcow family. I have had to click back buttons and middle-click and all sorts of other things to restrict myself from going off at the face over repulsive points of view.
I can’t stress enough how much I love this.
I can’t stress enough how much I love screaming and debating with Jews, some my intellectual equals and some my intellectual superiors (by far, and also some inferior I’m sure), who had the upbringing I “wanted” to have when I was growing up and telling me what happened to them because of it. Being a convert, one often approaches Jewishness (and sometimes also Judaism) like a 20-year-old approaches a bar: everything on the inside is the phattest thing ever and as soon as I get my ID (or here, conversion certificate) I’m going to LIVE in this place. And, for many, the flipside is that a couple years later, they approach Jewishness the same way the 23-year-old approaches the same bar: been there, done that, moving on.
The average convert, I was told, goes away from Judaism within 5 years. After that, one is “out of the woods” after 10 years: the non-Jewish former identity practically fades from memory and the person, for all intents and purposes, may as well have been born Jewish. Sevenfatcow chevra have, perhaps unintentionally, as far as I am concerned, performed the highest level of v’ahavtem es ha’ger in some ways.
The cultural insight one gains just from hearing stories and hearing about the formation of a point of view. The cultural insight one gains by realizing that being “Chassidic” and being “frum” are often two drastically different things. Mi k’amcha Yisra’el that such a thing can even exist.
While I may fight the point of view, I will always defend the ones who say it and show love. Recently, I was subtly dissed by a member of the Jewish music scene for hanging out with people “from Cholent night” — “oh those are your friends?” — who he uncharacteristically described with such descriptives as “the weird guy” and “the guy who smells bad”. I almost had a breakdown — not so much for what was said but for the fact that I was taking offense.
I was taking offense as if someone had dissed one of my crew I grew up with. And then it hit me. Maybe this is my crew. A non-judgmental chevra whose friendship isnt dependent on “not dragging me down in madrega”. Just like who I grew up with. Sevenfatcow, ahavah achat like what.

Dead Tzaddik does miracles in Brazil
Now, being post-Sabatean and neo-halachic, I do have a whole-hearted belief in the power of departed souls to effect things in this world. Undoubtedly my Seven Fat Cow family will take this news with more of a grain of salt than I would.
Dead Rabbi Performs Miracles for Christians of Manaus
Manaus, Amazonas – Dead rabbis may tell no tales, but at least one in the Amazon performs miracles for the Catholics of Manaus.
The details of Rabbi Shalom Emmanuel Muyal’s mission and death in the Amazon remain obscure, but that’s nothing compared to the mystery surrounding his afterlife. Local Catholics have named him the “Santo Judeu Milagreiro de Manaus” (Saint Jewish Miracle Worker of Manaus). His tomb receives regular visits from Christians who attribute magic to his spirit.
A local Catholic patron saint rabbi. (The article goes on to tell the quite interesting history of the mostly Sephardic Jews of the Amazonian region of Brazil.)
Now, avoda zara aside — assuming this entire story is true and all accounts of the native Amazonian people are true, this means that from the Next World, a rabbi has helped goyim in the Amazonian rain forest. (Would one be able to garner the same “dozens of plaques” from grateful native Brazilians by running a collection campaign in today’s Brooklyn?)
Thought-provoking news from Y-LOVE.

walk on water
a minister priest and rabbi are fishing from a boat in the middle of a lake. first the minister runs out of worms. he calmly steps out of the boat walks across the water, and then returns several minutes later with a can of worms. next is the priest, and he too walks across the water, gets his worms and walks back to the boat. sure enough, a few minutes later, the rabbi sees he’s out of worms too. he steps off the boat, plunges into the water and drowns.
says the minister to the priest: “do you think we should have told him where the rocks are?”
the tragic comedy is apparent: the rabbi ends up taking the new testament more seriously than the christians.
many of the spiritually inclined people i know who have chosen to live independent lives outside the box carry an air of impending doom and failure. i think thats because they take the threatening educational messages of the yeshiva more seriously than their complacent hareidi counterparts. maybe they shouldnt. maybe thats the whole problem.
in certain respects, we all come from a boat in the middle of a lake. its unnecessary to be the hero who jumps off and tries to walk on water. that never works. take your time and find the rocks that will carry you safely where you heart tells you to go, even if what you need happens to be a can of worms.
ultimately, i promise you, you’ll land the big one

Dialogue between Civilizations and Religions
Why did Allah (God) create mankind? Allah wrote in His holy book, the Quran, when He wanted to see Himself He created Man. Allah fashions His notable characteristics into human form such as, beauty, wisdom, knowledge, kindness, mercy, justice, and craftsmanship. Afterwards, he asked all of the angels to bend themselves in front of Man. All except the devil, Shiataan, who believed he was more superior then Allah’s creation, knelt down. Thus, Allah, infuriated with Shaitaan’s disobedience, expelled him from Heaven and eternally cursed him.
I am sure we are all educated about these stories, however, my point is to explain that Allah gives us everything but with certain parameters. Living in these parameters defines mankind. Unlike having His creation solely for worship, such as the vast number of Angels and Gins (Genies), Allah enriched us with all of His traits except for one (the whole test/reason to create Man). You may wonder what quality did Allah embed in humans in which He does not contain? Humility. When you discover this quality you understand your parameters. Allah Almighty is only allowed to be arrogant because he is the creator, giver, and protector of everything. We can be more down to earth in front of Him, but never arrogant. This is why we all contain His traits but in limitations.
Dear friends this is all about religion and faith; all religions start and finish here. I can only ask for you to understand your limitations and behave humbly. When everybody understands the parameters of humans, respects and cares for others, and is just, then, a different method of worship or direction will not be so critical. Thus, if you want Allah Almighty to forgive you, start your life humble and down to earth regardless of your race, religion, or creed.

backward country, 08701
take a look at the hareidi culture. intimacy is an unseen variable. parents will not engage in any physical contact in front of their children. the boys and girls are schooled seperately. sex talk is taboo. it is forbidden to discuss natural sexual feelings. it is even forbidden to feel those natural sexual feelings. all physical contact is strictly prohibited. modesty is central to a girl’s education. she is taught to hide her body from the preying eyes of men. she is taught to look down when passing a man in order not to risk making eye contact. she is trained to hunch her shoulders forward in order to conceal the natural curvature of her chest. through isolation the boys never develop an emotional appreciation for women, craving sexual satisfaction instead. the boys become girls: needing instead of nurturing. the girls become boys, focusing on intellectual pursuits and rigorous academic demands instead of their emotional feminine wants and desires.
now take this boy and girl. send them to israel and then bring them back home. now thrust them into a cruel and misleading dating enviroment where they are meant to think that they are choosing a spouse when essentially the proposal is determined by their cautious and calculating parents.
watch how they struggle to connect and communicate in terse terminology while a cloud of fear looms above them. the atmosphere is heavy with analyzation judgment and contrived ideology.
then a trip to a bowling alley, a museum or perhaps a boat ride around manhattan. dinner and desert, late night drives, and wham!bam! its offical, they are engaged
lchaim tnoyim vort wedding planners, chossen cigarettes, text messaging frenzy and after two months the big day
the chasuna is a blur, sweaty and flushed, weak from fasting and high off all the excitement, the chossen and kallah are thrust into the yichud room.
the kallah classes are for the most part bullshit. do you really think this bais yaacov girl is ready to fuck?
going from zero to intercourse in sixty seconds isnt zrizus my friends. its rape
bais yaacov girls are being raped every night by the very men who wish to love them. what a ridiculous frustrating and evil situation.
it seems like all knowledge of human nature falls to the wayside as this dangerous brew of instability insecurity fear shame and aggression is concocted in the bridal suite.
there are some chossen teachers who are very adamant about hitting a home run on the wedding night. its too special and too holy of a time to waste they claim. apparently spending the night talking laughing and slowly easing into a deeper relationship isnt special and holy. so the protege is trained to position his newly acquired wife against a wall to prevent any squirming attempts to escape his zealous thrusts
lord in heaven, what kind of monsters are we creating?
must we wonder at all about the high rates of infidelity abuse and divorce in our community?
the rape of our children cannot continue

More toirah from Moireinu Harav Shabbetai Tzvi Zecher Tzadik V’kodosh L’brocho
Neo-Sabbatian Quote of the Day
B”H
“Oral Torah tells us that any soul can ’see‘ the Sefirotic emanations. Therefore, even animals — such as Balaam’s donkey, which could see the angel of the Lord while Balaam himself could not — must, by virtue of their contact with man, have much the same level of soul as man.
“This is what the Ba’al Shem Tov meant when he said, ‘The holy sparks that fell when God built and destroyed the worlds, man shall raise and purify upward from stone to plant, from plant to animal, from animal to speaking being — purify the holy sparks that are imprisoned in the world of shells.’ ”
