well, i finally watched the video. [i put it off as long as i could.]
what i saw and felt was something different than mendy and others. What I saw and felt was the pent up rage over 2,000 years of pogroms, inquisitions and crusades — the mass niggerizing and slaughter of millions of innocent Jewish men, women and children — boiling out in one man.
Yes, it was very, VERY disturbing. Not because it is blasphemous or sacrilegious, but because it is TRUE — because the hurt, horror and dehumanizing of the Jews by Christians over the past two thousand years is in there and TRUE. So the PAIN of a people, expressed through one man, shocks us because it is REAL; the RAGE shocks us because it is REAL; the RETALIATION shocks us because it iS REAL.
I don’t see this as blasphemous; anyone who does is trapped in and cant get past rationalizing away the horrific crimes perpetrated against the Jews by CHRISTIANITY and its hate-driven agents, not “Jesus.” I see it, and FEEL it, as the collective rage of an entire people literally “pouring out” of one man, a shaliach if you will, for each of us. All religions and/or ideoligies have commited one form of atrocity or another in the name of their beliefs. I love you guys, what would I do without you? Life would be so boring and uninspiring.
So of course I had a good laugh reading the back and forth in regard to the video. As I dried off my tears I realized that if this blog did anything good for humanity…it made me laugh.
An a serious note: I think the video is amazingly acted out but is rather very disturbing. The man seems to be angry not only at Jesus as he himself admitted, but at what Jesus stands for. Salvation, honor, strength and goodness. As a result of the crucifixion many catastrophies took place…Jews raped murdered and evicted from homes. Those nice representations of Jesus Christ seem to be mocked by this video…If salvation was meant to happen when Jesus died for our sins, how are we still so angry and so much in pain paying for the consequences of his actions.
In terms of Mendy…you can go to chabad.org and tell everyone there how sorry you are for disobeying the Rebbe Shlita when he explicitly stated in his maamer Lecha Dodi that all buttons are polished and your work is complete…yet you are still trying to set people on what you think the right path is. At a certain point in my life I decided to stop letting people take advantage of me and walk all over me, I decided to stand up against hypocrisy.When certain rabbis in crown heights spread false rumors about me, I delved into their personal lives and dug up dirt on them and made them cringe, and i felt justice was served.
As far as the Zealots go , I am a performance artist.When i play bass guitar in the Zealots I take on the role of a punk rocker with a fuck the world attitude, see me in the streets I am a completely different guy.The other day I brought my acoustic guitar to sloan-kettering hospital and played childrens songs for the kids with cancer.When i sang a song about diarrhea the nurses and parents started giving me dirty looks until they saw the kids rolling on the floor laughing, and then they realized what I was trying to accomplish.Sometimes laughter is the best medicine, and I have always been willing to stoop to any level to make people laugh, I was the class clown in school.And when I left the hospital that day I cried for an hour.
I never asked for a medal for any of these things that i do, but if someone wants to spread false rumors about me and misrepresent who
I really am , then those people with suffer my wrath.
