And now, it’s Roseanne…
May 4, 2007
Roseanne Barr, of sitcom and talk show fame, has reportedly left Judaism and taken up Christianity, the JTA reports.
Why?
Because she follows Kabbalah. And JC, of course, was a Kabbalist.
So, what now, red strings in churches?
From your favorite charedi revolutionary, Y-LOVE.

uh oh. what’s next on the flavor-of-the-moment list for these spiritual dilettantes of Hollywood, neo-sabbatianism? or, worse yet, chulent?
Quick! Everybody duck and cover.

or at the very least, don’t stand in front of the fan.

I didnt even know Roseanne was Jewish.
YaLHak I am going to install a fan in my toilet, so when that old adage comes to fruition it will actually make sense.

it always makes me laugh how phil berg and his bunch have turned a quaint little folk custom into a million dollar industry.
like a lot of you, i grew up with my great grandmother, grandmother, mother and her sisters tying red ribbons and red strings to every conceivable surface, hidden and revealed, including my infant daughter’s crib.
they didn’t WEAR them, as far as i can remember, but they did insist that i, or whoever else was having a button sewed on an article of apparel they were wearing, should CHEW a piece of red thread.
the profit margin must be enormous.

I think the 7fc should come up with some money making gimmick like that – it can’t be too hard…you know, just for good ol’ parnasa’s sake…If we can’t even do that then we’re takkeh complete batlonim. At worst we’ll just confirm it…

atgate thats a good idea.Since more celebrities live in new york than in hollywood, we should open a kabbalah school to attract them, and take their money.

yalhak,

shitalphin | May 5, 2007 at 12:21 pm
atgate, hsd,
we are complete batlonim but what holds us back from doing these things is one last shred of decency that separates us from berg and lubavitch but hopefully that shred too will unravel. lomir hofn az chut she’eyno meshulesh b’mheyre yinotek.

alph,
very funny. (not!) but there is a difference between a pustok and a fool. and yes, on that basis you can bet your ass i’m “discriminatory” –i discriminate against ALL fools, regardless of race, creed or color.
love and kisses,

Jesus was a kabbalist… seems like every false mashiach we have is a kabbalist.
No wonder people say its asur to learn the zohar. They are scared every one will be a nother mashiach.

atgate,
it’s not a question of mutar believe me. we don’t have the stomach for it. we pride ourselves on our cynicism but the truth is we don’t hold a candle to organized religion. somebody suggested putting porn ads on the site. at least that’s honest but chaya would kill us.

bar kochba wasnt a kabbalist and he came the closest of all of them to success. he even built a bais hamikdosh which is more than you could say for shabbetai tzvi.
i met a lubavitcher sporting an ez-pass the other day, he said that not only am i alive in 770 and moshiach. but i am god as well.
this raises the question of how many of my other chassidim feel this way. is 770 a makom shel avodah zarah? and is crown heights an ir nidachas?
now you might say that this bochur is just a fringe loony. but i spoke to him for half an hour before he said i am god. in that half an hour he exhibited an in depth knowledge of gemara, rambam, descartes, kant, tanya, samach vov, and many other fields of study. he was no fringe lunatic, i cant wait for the day that i am proclaimed to be the lord, not privately, but publicly as well!

lag baomer was originally a celebration of bar kochba’s revolt, hence the bows and arrows. The bonfire is in commemoration of the guerilla’s signaling tactic.
later the rabbanim turned it into a more religiously themed holiday, but the mark of revolution is still inherent in the holiday.
refer to crazy yosef for more on this topic

the omer is a sad time no music etc. Because of Bar Kochbas failure. 24 thousand students of rabbi Akiva dies because he said Bar Kochba is mashiach.
Roaseanne BARR = BARR Kochba

with a little luck, and would he have been in a earlier time, jesus might have been accepted into mainstream judaism.
but instead, we get some depresed lunatics like ezra, yeremiah, and theyr like.
yechi hamelech hamoshiach, (no, not jesus, the other one)

“with a little luck, and would he have been in a earlier time, jesus might have been accepted into mainstream judaism.”
!
No, I don’t think so. You know why? the closest anyone came before him to saying that maybe goyim and goyishkite weren’t so bad was Achan, and they killed him WITH his family, and all their property. I would say l’hefech, only in the days of Rome could any of the chiddushim of Yoshkie Pundrix been even thought… although we know very little of the Yidden who were dismissed throughout Tanach as being ovdei avodah zara, don’t we? We have no way of knowing what Jewish theologies and traditions were repressed by the rulers of Israel. I wonder! maybe we once had a whole nation of Yeshus, killed all together whenever they’d get caught thinking different.
