Hamas b’Ivrit
September 20, 2007
For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with the new Hamas dance tracks, the newest Hamas music video just hit al-Aqsa TV. Entitled “Hamas, the Apple of My Eye”, the video features various scenes of Hamas soldiers together with a quite Meditteranean keyboard-intensive dance overdub.
The piece is unique in that it’s in Hebrew (granted with an Arabic speaker’s accent).
The video is available from MEMRI’s website here.
Hamas doing propaganda music videos in Ivrit? What could have brought this on? (And is this connected to the Hebrew translation of the Qur’an begun earlier this year?)
And let’s not forget about the Israeli Nazis.
– Y-LOVE.

well, i dont know why they would do videos in hebrew per se, but following the logical conclusions of their ideology, there’s no reason they wouldn’t really. i mean, hamas is anti-nationalist, so they wouldn’t like some other groups, have some “arabic only” restrictions. i mean, they are fundamentalists (in the narrow sense), seeking to expand their religious interpretations throughout a society, with the case of an Islamic fundamentalist group, seeking converts would be quite logical, if you think about it.
some of the writings/interviews ive read even suggest a willingness to accept legitimacy of Judaism as religion, but not Zionism. whether or not thats sincere is well, not really discernable.
i’d like to think we could all get along and practice “let and let live”, but history (with which i love-hate relationship) would go argue against me.
i tend to assume malicious or dishonest intentions are behind the actions of any group directly involved in politics until proven otherwise. over the years, i think this approach has validated itself.

repression of what is really happening is futile, there is no backlash to 1948 but a continious supression of expresion of the truth we live in here,an attempt to mold and restrict reality to conform to what we wish it to be-the begining of redemption-redemption is in gods hands amy attempt to push it is disaster, the game of right and left- illusion- promoted by forces dedicated to the destrution of the jewish people;ive never meet an isreali who trancended israeliness;there are no religious jews or non-religious ones just jews-illusion to divide in order to rule the shoa was a kind of internal jewish conflict outer forces gladly took sides in; israeli truth manipulation is killing this people because of the need to lie to ones self-selfdegragation-super expression of self as an israeli is a shuting down of ones self as a human being jew i pray to god that this eternal people escape this most deadly trap that of accepting the false idenity of isreali man much more than that stop

The Israely man is too new to have an identity as a small baby.

I am pretty sure that the Quran has been available in Hebrew for quite some time, probably ion several translations. I take it by “official” translation though they mean a translation authorized by Islamic scholars and clergy–one without “apikorsish” (according to Islam) commentary??

thanks for the reply it was probally highly inapropriate but i just pasted a talkback to a haaretz artical on artistic repression in israel here in this space. i didnt listen to the hamas song.israelis do have a definate idenity though ,one which will never evolve into what the relgious folk want it to [baruch hashem] so too bad rav kook it was just wishful thinking which was the major pilosphical influance on jews in our generation wanting to hear a hopeful message after the distruction of our old idenity began in the 1790s and was so much helped along by the nazi folks distruction of our phyical selves 150 years later.by the way ffb what does that incredibly cynical attitude cover up and whats the incredible importance attached to proper spelling? isnt that shallow? does proper spelling =inteligent thought or are you only brainwashed to think so? which brings me to my main conjecture that the cows as cows are falling down on the job of reporting the real trends in jewish spirit. tell me im wrong please.im refering to two events that took place in august the death of raul hilberg and the defeat of norman finkelstein these two events have far ranging consequences to our future dismal as it may seem . ask yourself one simple question- why would a 60 year old + historical event form the basis of conflict between the greatest powers in the world
